I am the proud owner of a Piano Lessons studio in Western Pennsylvania. In 2013 I began a traveling piano studio named, Cranberry Learns Piano. I originally began the studio with one family who had 6 children, 4 of whom I was teaching. As I built the studio, website, and advertising, I was able to gain more students and needed more instructors, taking the studio to the next level.
The pandemic changed the structure of the studio, additional instructors left, students left, but the studio continues to add students as it rebuilds to its former status. I continue to maintain our online presence, but in preparation for those future days, I have created training materials for new instructors to bring them onboard as quickly as possible.
It is important to communicate clearly with employees, and in an environment when you do not see each other in-person, it is extra important. I took the information from our training and put it into a PDF Manual that instructors can refence at any time. Yes, it is geared for new instructors, but reviewing information and expectations can only be helpful for all employees.
Informing new families of studio procedures and policies can be time consuming. I created a short video to share with families so they receive the necessary information before lessons begin.
