During my Masters Program I completed two different internships. Both were fantastic learning experiences that helped me develop the skills necessary to be a successful Instructional Designer.

In July of the summer of 2023 I was offered an internship at Minitab, a data analytics software company.  The internship focused on creating a course on Data Literacy to be added to their Education Hub, helping the company bridge a gap and be able to service companies from early data understanding to complicated statistics.

We used multiple Adobe products including Captivate, Express, InDesign, Photoshop, Firefly, Premier and Audition to create the necessary content which will be added to the company's LMS.

Much of the work I completed was private to the company, so I am unable to share some of the items that I worked on. Here is a short video sharing some of the basics of Data Literacy utilizing an AI video host.

During the summer of 2023 I was privileged to work as a Learning Experience Design intern for the Upper New Review; an educational magazine focusing on the Upper River Basin in North Carolina.

The magazine plans to expand into the education market and establish their own platform, the work I created will be the content they use to begin the platform.

I worked on writing a course on Augmented and Virtual Realities, exploring what it is, how it benefits and hurts us, as well as the possibilities these technologies hold for our future.

The magazine is not ready to launch their platform, so I created a Canvas course containing the same content.  You can view some basics of AR vs VR, read the lessons below in PDF format, as well as access the Canvas course.
